About "Oraclay"

Oraclay represents earth that shines its aura. The idea is rooted in ceramic crafts with the main concept of bringing happiness to their receivers. Oraclay showcases its uniqueness through adorable and exclusive designs. At times, Oraclay products could be way too imaginary that they are not perceived quite right of what they are, but every single one of them are surely heartmade.
Oraclay originated in 2014 when a passionate university student in Architecture, specializing in industrial design, determined to transform an ordinary lump of earth into an artistic piece of art.
Through compressing, moulding, and firing in the final stage, the shaped lump solidifies and maintains its structure, shining the aura and proudly boasting the beauty of our  brand Oraclay.
Oraclay products are both narrative and functional.
The very first launched character, Ora, is inspired by the well-known dragon-patterned earthenware of Rajburi, where our creator has served her internship roles and come across the idea of combining into crafts the cuteness and fearfulness of dragon, a mythical creature that holds people in awe. Marvelous flake, horn, and face illustrations. These Rajburi dragon’s remarkable features together with a large portion of imagination are pioneered into our proud brand, Oraclay.

Operating as a small studio, we handcraft each ceramic piece in small batches. This dedication ensures that every Oraclay masterpiece bears the unique touch of our creator. With your support, we are able to pursue our passion and maintain a women-owned small business in the arts industry.

Thank you!

Hello, I was curious about what exact types of clay and glazes/slips you use in order to produce such a clear looking piece, as well as what the bisque and fire process looks like. I am a ceramics student and our studio only allows us to use cone 10 clay. I don’t know much about their firing process but my pieces always come out looking a bit murky. I would love to hear more about your process if possible. Thank you for your time.

Susan
