Bisque

When we're done with decorating our porcelain creations, we pop them into a kiln and fire them up to bisque temperature, which is usually around 800°C.

This first firing is super important because it takes out any leftover moisture and makes the clay stronger.

This way, it's all set and ready for glazing and won't break easily.

It's essential to remember that before the first firing, porcelain clay is pretty delicate, so we need to take good care of it. But, once it's been through the bisque firing, it's good to go and can handle more.
